Zenia McKintosh, ICT lead at Bonneville Primary School, sets out her school’s remote and blended learning journey, which took them from Google Drive with a simple spreadsheet for children and parents to use for communication, to home learning email addresses so children could send their work in as they needed feedback from teachers for motivation. While it worked – the site got hits and the work was returned – it was not an ideal situation and they were keen to develop it further. In order to have an easier way for teachers, parents and children to interact they moved to Google Classroom. To help parents find their way around the site they sent out a scavenger hunt and also did home learning workshops. Google Classroom has met the real desire from parents and teachers to have a way to interact more closely.
