Laura Smith, assistant curriculum leader of English at Sandbach High School, reveals that the most useful CPD she did during the pandemic was a departmental meeting where all the teachers opened up some remote learning software and spent the whole meeting trying out different things. Laura explains that it was a really productive meeting as a lot of this is trial and error, having a go at things and getting away from the fear that you can break it. It was very cost effective CPD as well – all about self discovery and poaching each other’s insights!
