Online safety isn’t just for pupils – Billy Perrin, year 6 teacher

Billy, a year 6 teacher and computing subject leader from Julians Primary School, explains how although his pupils have adapted well to the freedom to send messages that are visible to the wider school, it’s not just their online safety that has to be considered in the school’s online learning provision. Recording lessons from home can result in teachers having to share more of their private life than they’re comfortable with, and although solutions like the background blur in Google Meet, which Billy demonstrates here, can help, schools need to make sure teachers feel safe and supported in their online safety policies.
