  • UCL EDUCATE Presents Shock to the System: Lessons from Covid-19 Roundtable. January 2021. ‘What has and hasn’t worked in the last year, and what pedagogy, online architecture, and digital infrastructure is needed in UK schools’. One of several UCL EDUCATE resources, based on the research undertaken for the forthcoming report due for publication in Febrauary 2021. Themes for the panel include: ‘Connections’ – the responsibility to bridge the gaps in understanding between academia, and EdTech business, and users, laymen, technophobes and gatekeepers.

    • ‘Engagement’ – how to capitalise on the rise of positive engagement in technology for all stakeholders, not just the primary users.
    • ‘Assessment’ – the dangers of alienating learners through the continuation of traditional methods, that have historically disadvantaged already disadvantaged people, and how a radical rethink might not have to hurt first to help later.
    • ‘Pedagogy’ – the act of building pedagogy in educational institutions coming before online infrastructure is erected.
